Our Mission
The Demuth Foundation preserves and promotes the groundbreaking work of American Modern artist Charles Demuth; showcases the work of local, national, and international artists to the Lancaster community; and inspires new generations through its programs. The collections, exhibitions, educational programs, and public initiatives of our multiple facilities foster creativity and appreciation of art and artists.
Our Impact
Collectively, our museums welcome over 10,000 visitors and serve 2,000 program participants annually. We mount an average of 15 special exhibits each year and maintain the largest collection of original Charles Demuth drawings, watercolors, and paintings with 60+ works. Shows like the Lancaster Museum of Art's Community Art Exhibition and Lancaster County Young Artists Awards celebrate our community's artistic talent.
