Whether you are hosting a small private gathering or a large park festivity requiring a stage, The Portico provides a sophisticated presence yet versatile centerpiece for your special event.  

 Our 1,200 square foot outdoor space is ideal for hosting:

Rental Space Options*:

  • The Portico (electricity access is available)

  • The Portico with private access to the Demuth Museum of Art on Lime Indoor Galleries during non-business hours.

*Depending on the size and formality of your open-air occasion, tables and chairs may be available for rent through the Demuth Museum of Art or rented through private vendors. Please note: there is no “only electric-no-portico” option. 

Portico Capacity: 

150 standing, 80 theater seating or 60 table seating.

Please note, The Portico is maintained by the Demuth Museum of Art and is independent of Musser Park. All park and pavilion permit inquiries should be directed to the City of Lancaster Office of Promotion.

Admission to any rental event (including all fundraiser events) held at the Museum's facilities must be by private invitation or ticket sale only. The Museum will allow equal access to facility rentals to all inquiring parties on the terms and conditions contained in its standard facility rental agreement on a first come, first served basis. Use of Musser Park and the property surrounding the Museum's facilities is not managed by the Museum and requires authorization and permits from the City of Lancaster.

Any views or opinions expressed at any rental event held at the Museum’s facilities are solely those of the speaker or the renting group and should not be imputed or attributed to the Museum in any form or fashion. Any private rental of Museum facilities by political or religious groups does not constitute nor should it be construed as support or endorsement of a political candidate, theology, or cause.
