Since its founding in 1993, Strictly Functional Pottery National (SFPN) has been recognized as one of the top ceramic exhibitions in the country. The first of its kind, SFPN provides an opportunity for functional pots to receive a much deserved spotlight. Every year, SFPN proudly features some of the most talented ceramic artists from across the United States.

This special one-weekend exhibition at the Demuth Program Center features a collection of work by Fine Art seniors at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, December 4 from 5 - 8 pm! Hours for this exhibition are Friday, December 4, 5 - 8 pm; Saturday, December 5, 10 am - 4 pm; and Sunday, December 6, 12 pm - 4 pm.

Recursion, whether in mathematics or in visual phenomena, relies on a function or an image that is repeated to yield a new iteration, which then in turn is repeated. Subsequent iterations build on one another, but always yield something new that reflects what has come before. By undergoing this recursive process, Kent’s photographic iterations capture both rural and urban landscapes, visually documenting the passage of time.
