Featuring recent work by the artist, this exhibition invites you to contemplate the subtlety of the canvas’ surface as it interacts with the existing light and shadow in the room. Inspired by Josef Albers, Witmer’s paint application and manipulation of the physical structure of the canvas examines the notions of color theory.

To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, we are featuring an exhibition that explores key moments in our site’s history, from colonial times to today. The show will incorporate both fine art and historical objects to tell how the Demuth family has been an integral part of Lancaster’s development from the first inland city of the 13 colonies to today’s vibrant and diverse community, including the ways the Demuths celebrated Independence Days throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.
