The minimalist work of Mike Witmer emphasizes the interplay of color and light. Featuring recent work by the artist, this exhibition invites you to contemplate the subtlety of the canvas’ surface as it interacts with the existing light and shadow in the room. To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, we are featuring an exhibition that explores key moments in our site’s history, from colonial times to today. The show will incorporate both fine art and historical objects to tell how the Demuth family has been an integral part of Lancaster’s development from the first inland city of the 13 colonies to today’s vibrant and diverse community, including the ways the Demuths celebrated Independence Days throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.
