Join us for a day of modern art in Philadelphia! We will explore the new Calder Gardens with a guided tour, followed by a visit to the retrospective Marcel Duchamp exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Calder Gardens

Calder Gardens is a new art institution dedicated to Alexander Calder (1898–1976), one of the most acclaimed and influential artists of the 20th century. Building on the artist’s enduring legacy, it is conceived as a place where an evolving interplay between art, architecture, nature, and programming encourages contemplation and self-discovery.

Marcel Duchamp

The first major U.S. retrospective dedicated to Marcel Duchamp in more than 50 years, this exhibition will explore the range and arc of this artist’s illustrious career. "Marcel Duchamp" will feature a chronological display of more than 300 works of painting, sculpture, film, photography, printed matter, exhibition design, and the unclassifiable works known as readymades.

Lunch

Lunch will be on your own at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The museum features several dining options, including The Cafe, Ellis Coffee Bar, and Balcony Cafe.

• 8:45 - Depart Lancaster (leaving from Highland Presbyterian Church)

• 10:45 - Arrive at Calder Gardens

• 11:00 - Guided tour of Calder Gardens

• 12:30 - Depart Calder Gardens

• 12:45 - Arrive at Philadelphia Museum of Art, explore and eat lunch on your own

• 2:00 - Timed entry for Marcel Duchamp exhibition

• 3:30 - Depart Philadelphia Museum of Art

• 6:00 - Arrive in Lancaster

Refund Policy: The museums we are visiting requires ticket reservations and non-refundable payment several weeks in advance. Should you need to cancel your participation in this trip, we are able to offer a 50% refund through October 14. After October 14, no refunds will be available but if you still need to cancel we can convert your bus trip ticket to a tax deductible donation if you wish.
