Generations of artists have called Lancaster home. In the late 1700s and early 1800s, renowned portrait painter Jacob Eichholtz began his painting career in his hometown of Lancaster. Nearly 100 years later, Modern Art pioneer Charles Demuth created many of his now famous paintings in his Lancaster studio. As the 20th century progressed, Lancaster developed a thriving arts community that remains today. Our community continues to attract talented creatives and nurtures emerging artists of all ages and backgrounds, resulting in rich art experiences throughout our city and county. In the 2026 edition of Lancaster’s Latest, works by local artists Tina Borchert and Ryan Moyer are featured.

This special exhibition is held in memory of artist Michael Tymon (1984-2019), whose work inspired many.
