Augusta's STEAM Academy is a new 6 session classroom-in-residency for 3-5 graders to come onsite to the Demuth Museum of Art and be immersed in the passions of Augusta Demuth. It incorporates project-based learning activities in cooking and gardening, engaging in projects in kitchen chemistry, horticulture, and art as they learn how Augusta’s interests influenced Charles’ artwork. This program also incorporated Master Gardeners and culinary instructors to the museum to lead activities in the garden and the kitchen that draw on Augusta’s own recipes and favorite plants.
Artworks produced by the first class of Augusta’s STEAM Academy, featuring the 4th grade class of Central Manor Elementary, will be available to view for one weekend only.
