The tour will explore the downtown and southern City neighborhoods, highlighting the former Conestoga Steam Mills, which now houses the School District of Lancaster offices and Carter & MacRae Elementary School. This building is featured in Charles Demuth's famous painting, Lancaster (In the Province No 2). The painting was on view at the Demuth Museum from May 8-July 25, 2021 as part of the Smokestacks and Skyscrapers: Modern Moments from the 20th Century exhibit and on loan from the Philadelphia Museum of Art through the Art Bridges + Terra Foundation Initiative. Generous support for this project provided by Art Bridges.
