Graduating from Skidmore College with a BS in studio art, Lee Rowan’s career began as a needlepoint designer. Many of Rowan’s floral canvases were inspiration for later paintings. Today, she works in both oil and pastel, and is known for her paintings of eggs in nests. She works primarily from photographs and always carries a camera to capture her next subject. Rowan resides on the North Shore in Massachusetts and the coast of Maine, and exhibits her work across the east coast of the United States.
