Born in 1925, Robert Nelson dedicated his life to the practice of art, receiving his B.A.E. in 1950 and his M.A.E. in 1951, both from the Art Institute of Chicago. Afterwards, Nelson taught at various schools, receiving his Education Doctorate in 1971 and eventually teaching at Millersville University, where he received the rank of professor emeritus in 1997. His art is included in the permanent collections of many famous museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1961, the government of France awarded him the prestigious Cezanne medal.
