Christine Welch, born in 1947, studied at Franklin & Marshall College, and later at the University of Delaware, where she received her MFA in Photography. The nature of her photos is often less about the beauty of the scene, but the politics and metaphor to be found within. She has taught at several Lancaster colleges, and has served as the Chair of the Photography Department at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. She has exhibited all across the east coast, and is a past member of the Board of Trustees of the Demuth Foundation.
