    A Lancaster native, Florence Starr Taylor studied art at the Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Arts in 1922 and then under Louis Comfort Tiffany. She was the first female artist and reporter for the Intelligencer Journal, and also the first staff artist for PBS-TV. She is known especially for her portraits of Lancaster residents and of local Lancaster scenes.
