2002 GARDEN TOUR WEEKEND (cont )
Veteran tour gardeners on Wildflower Lane describe their garden
as “a casual, free and easy place for our family”
and “a fun and happy place” for their pets. A Belgian
block patio and courtyard accommodate a “planned disarray”
of flowers, herbs, shrubs, roses, and wild flowers each year.
A dovecote is surrounded by birds, butterflies, and flowers,
and grand Albertine roses are in full bloom in early June. Window
boxes and teak resting places welcome friends and visitors alike.,
This spectacular setting is a favorite from past tours and is
certain to please newcomers this year.
With 14 beautiful and diverse gardens, and welcoming gardener
hosts, visitors to the 2002 Demuth Garden Tour are in for a
pleasure experience. In addition to the gala on Friday evening,
a plant sale of species from local gardens will be held at Conestoga
House on Saturday and Sunday during the tour hours, 10.00 am
to 5 ,00 pm. Lunch is also available there. Advance tickets
are available for $12.00 from the Demuth Foundation at 114 East
King Street, or by calling 299-9940. Tickets will be available
during the tour weekend at tour locations for $15.00.
All proceeds benefit the Demuth Foundation. – Leah Young
