Demuth's House
street.jpg (13693 bytes) Charles Demuth's original home on King Street is now the Demuth Museum. The Demuth Foundation has restored the home and its gardens. The original gate just to the left leads to the courtyard and entrance to the museum. The Demuth Tobacco Shop is to the right of the house.
In the court yard the Lutheran Trinity steeple is visible just over the roof of the house. The steeple was subject matter for Charles' paintings. The Foundation has restored the original gardens kept by Charles' mother court.jpg (12804 bytes)
shed.jpg (13799 bytes) The most recent restoration work is the shed at the rear of the house. During the restoration of the shed the Foundation took on an archeological exploration of the ground around the shed.
Charles' bedroom as it was during the time he stayed at the house. The inside of the house hosts the museum and museum shop. bed.jpg (8157 bytes)
