Tobacco Shop Manager Joins Foundation
As new manager of the Demuth Tobacco Shop, Robert Skinner
is having a good time getting acquainted with the historical
artifacts there, as well as with the business that has
thrived in the same location since 1770. Following nearly
30 years with the Schick Corporation in Cleveland, and
several more years as an independent owner of its stores
after Schick ceased operations, Bob moved with his wife
and family to Lancaster, bought a boat and expected
to sail into the sunset, he says. But the opportunity
to manage the Demuth Tobacco Shop offers a new challenge
to which he looks forward. Bobs joining the staff
will offer Board member Eberhard Gromoll a well-earned
respite from the day-to-day management duties he has been
obliged to conduct. For many years he has served as liaison
- not only faithfully and cheerfully but expertly - between
the tobacco shop and the Foundation (and will continue
to do so). In the photograph above, he gladly relinquishes
some of his chores to Robert Skinner and welcomes him
into the Demuth Family. With the donation of a new office
computer, the Foundation staff can now respond to requests
on-line. |
